Why do I have to enter my e-mail address, when I want to request a sample file?

As this is not a free download, but the sample file is given to you individually on specified terms, we will send the temporary download link to your e-mail address.

Does SCORBE provide payment options other than via PayPal?

We chose PayPal as a partner for the handling of payments, as PayPal provides the majority of common payment methods. Through this service, you can settle payments to us even without an own PayPal account (e.g., by credit card or by online transfer). If the options provided by PayPal are not applicable for you, please contact our support. Within the EU, we provide you the opportunity to transfer the licence fee to us after receipt of an invoice sent by mail. Then the works, for which you want to obtain licences, will be sent to you manually. The additional effort thus arising will be charged with a service fee of EUR 40.00, currently.

What is the all media advertising licence?

Is it possible for me to licence music for a usage category that is not listed?

Yes. In this case, please contact us and inform us about the desired usage category, the project or production name and the area of circulation. We will submit you an individual offer immediately.

How versions and reminder in advertising have to be taken? As of when do I have to purchase an additional licence?

In a advert licence (Cinema/TV/Radio/Internet) a reminder version is included, which will be taken out in the same commercial break with a clear connection to the main advert as regards content and whose length does not exceed the length of the main advert. Reproductions with modified text or image content, even intended for the same product, require obtaining a new licence.
If you plan the simulaneous production of a advert series with different offs, extensions or other variations, please contact our support. In this case, we would like to submit you an individual offer.

Why a licence request is to be sent to SCORBE for certain titles?

For some works, the user agreement cannot be conducted online. This is always the case, if we have to obtain the licenser’s usage agreement for each single application. For licences that cannot be obtained directly online, the price list also ceased to be valid.

Why are some titles liable to GEMA (“CS” label) or any other collecting society and some are not? As a customer, what does that mean for me?

Liability to a collecting society arises, once the author of a work becomes a member of the collecting society. The collecting society subsequently safeguards the performance rights and the right to mechanical reproduction of all works from this author. For you as a customer, this means that you must inform the collecting society, that is responsible for your country, of each usage of one of these works and pay the corresponding fees.

This notice cannot be sent by SCORBE on your behalf. However, we would like to support you, if any questions should arise.

For sending the notice, please contact one of the companies given below:

AKM/Austro-Mechana (Austria)
ASCAP (USA)
BMI (USA)
Buma-Stemra (Netherlands)
GEMA (Germany)
MCPS-PRS (UK)
SABAM (Belgium)
SACEM (France)
SGAE (Spain)
SIAE (Italy)
SOCAN (Canada)
STIM (Sweden)
SUISA (Suisse)

When using titles from our repertoire, that are not labelled with “CS” (= Collecting Society), you do not need to send this notice. These are titles, where the originators either not being members of a collecting society or the term of copyright has expired.

May I promote my products or third parties using the names of the artists or the works, for which I obtained a licence on my own behalf?

Syntonizer: Is it possible for me to conduct a simultaneous search over all genres?

Yes. Just click on “All genres”, configure the desired setting in the syntonizer, and click “Search”. In the syntonizer, at least one parameter must be enabled.

Syntonizer: How can I reset all controls into the neutral position?

To reset all controls into the neutral position and to reset the category and genre settings, a click on the SCORBE logo in the upper green bar will do (Home function). The complete search engine is thus reset.

Syntonizer: Sometimes, I find no title or only a few titles when using the syntonizer.

This can happen with extreme or inconsistent settings. For instance, when searching over the “Techno” genre and simultaneously adjusting the syntonizer parameters to “Gentle” and “Acoustic”, no titles are displayed. Simply change the syntonizer settings and start a new search. It may be useful to encircle the results by first starting with a search, that is less restricted, and then successively readjusting the syntonizer parameters according to your wishes.

Is it possible to conduct a search by keyword?

Yes. Simply enter the keyword in the “Text search” field (top right), and click the “Go!” button. A large number of titles provides more keywords in their detailed description, such as “film music”, “optimistic”, “gloomy”, “orotund”, etc.

How does the search for instruments works?

Open the search for instruments by clicking the "Instruments" button. Select the instrument you want, and click “Find”. Multiple choice is not possible.
